Go Faster

Simcenter 3D Acoustics – E-motor vibration synthesis

Engineers often face the challenge of performing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) analysis quickly and accurately, especially when dealing with complex E-motor multi-attribute balancing.

Experience significant improvements in NVH analysis with the E-motor vibration synthesis (EMVS) acoustics verticals workflow, which offers an easy-to-use step by step process for creating e-motor reduced order models and delivering NVH results up to 100 times faster with full FEM accuracy and realistic loads. This enhancement allows for quick iterations on different e-motor operating conditions and provides specific e-motor related insight into the NVH response. This first release supports steady-state ideal current operation and non-skewed IPMSM machines, with future enhancements, for instance, for transient loads and skewed machines on the roadmap.

Simcenter 3D Engineering Desktop – Persistent geometry tagging

Managing geometry tagging and ensuring robust model updates without custom scripts can be a daunting task.

Leverage persistent geometry tagging with grouped, automated, and replayable geometry tagging. This feature eliminates the need for custom scripts and ensures robust model updates when conducting Design Space Explorationor Multidisciplinary Design Analysis and Optimization.

Simcenter 3D Low Frq EM – Faster Indution machine set-up

The use of induction machines in EVs helps to reduce the deendency of rear-earth materials but setting up an induction machine simulation can be complicated and time-consuming. Discover how the new features in the 2512 release can help you, in this video, or see our blog for additional information.

Simcenter 3D Aerostructure – Parallelization

Solving complex aerostructure problems quickly, while maintaining accuracy, is a common challenge for engineers.

Enjoy faster solving with parallelization, which allows you to compute more in less time while maintaining the accuracy of your results. This improvement refines the flight envelope discretization without impacting lead solve time.

Simcenter 3D Engineering Desktop – Selection recipe boolean operations

Selection recipes save you time, but what if you have a complex mode that requires updatable selection combinations? In this release of Simcenter 3D Engineering desktop you can create a new selection recipe by combining two existing recipes via boolean operations.

Simcenter Nastran – Multiple time-saving updates

This release includes a number of updates to the Simcenter Nastran solver that result in significant time savings, such as A new VMOPT=3 option for virtual fluid modeling that eliminates the need for dry mode convergence studies. This delivers numerically stable results up to five times faster than before; An AMD optimized CPU library that unlocks 15-50% faster simulation times on AMD EPYC™, Ryzen™, and Threadripper™ processors; A revamped matrix factorization algorithm for linear static analysis that makes sloshing simulations up to 50% faster; nonlinear simulations are also faster and more saclable, find out more in our latest blog.

Simcenter 3D Durability – Enhance fatigue methods for solder

Achieving accurate and efficient solder fatigue and reliability results can be a time-consuming and complex process.

Benefit from enhanced fatigue methods for solder, including the Darveaux and Engelmaier methods, which provide better and faster solder fatigue results. This improvement is combined with new reliability results that provide the probability of failure for a given lifetime length.  This update ensures improved accuracy and efficiency in your durability analyses.

Simcenter 3D Low Frq EM – Enhanced analysis for power transformers

The rapid expansion of AI has further loaded many grids that were already struggling due to the wide spread adoption of electric vehicles loading an aging network. Ensuring engineers have the best understanding of how their transformer will perform is critical. With this release engineers can now get better trasnformer insights as well as better AC loss analysis with Time-harmonic AC post-processing for phasors. Find out more in this Blog

Simcenter 3D Motion – Graphical topology maps

Large complex models can hid mistakes or missing features out of view. With the new Graphical topology map you can now simplify the visulisation of your system to easily see the connectivity of motion bodies and the types of conections (joints/Forces/Constraints).

Simcenter 3D Additive Manufacturing – Manage parameter sets over their height

Model the change in surface roughness with respect to height. It is now possible to combine different parameter sets at different heights of a specimen. This is done to change layer thickness at different heights and to alter the surface roughness to match that of the desired physical part, thereby enabling accurate modeling of deformations.

Simcenter 3D Structural Dynamics – Smart virtual sensing for unconstrained structures and unconstrained bodies

Predicting loads and estimating fields for unconstrained structures, as well as determining the location and orientation of unconstrained bodies, either requires extensive testing or is completely unmeasurable.

Extend the capabilities of Smart Virtual Sensing from fixed structures to unconstrained structures. This update enables load prediction and field estimation for a broader range of applications, such as satellite shaker tests, battery vibration tests, and load prediction for heavy equipment. The new Unconstrained Rigid Body Solution enables you to measure rigid body position and orientation using accelerometer and gyroscope measurements. This enables a smarter solution for the motor packaging validation and derives wheel position for vehicle dynamics studies.

Simcenter 3D Rotor Dynamics – Active magnetic bearings

Active magnetic bearings reduce friction and thereby boost efficiency, but modeling them was not possible in the rotor dynamics solver until now. This made workflows convoluted with multiple tools and file transfers needed in order make the physics calculations required. With the 2512 updates, you can now model active magnetic bearings in Sol 414 rotor dynamics, enabling you to complete simulations of highspeed turbocompressors, pumps, or turbines in a single enviroment. This will remove bottlenects, save time, and lessen the chance of mistakes. To find out more read our latest blog.
