What’s new in BluePrint-PCB 2604
The recent addition of BluePrint-PCB to the Siemens portfolio represents a significant evolution for our customers, as it provides an advanced documentation tool for the PCB development lifecycle, from design through manufacturing release.
BluePrint-PCB helps engineering teams streamline PCB documentation by creating comprehensive fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, panel drawings, inspection documentation and related manufacturing outputs from PCB design data. Whether used as a standalone solution or integrated into an existing Xpedition environment, the 2604 release of BluePrint helps PCB design teams replace disjointed manual documentation steps with a more consistent, intelligent and design-driven documentation process.
What’s new in BluePrint-PCB 2604
The 2604 release of BluePrint focuses on bringing the product more directly into the Siemens ecosystem. The release improves how customers access, manage and learn the software, while connecting them to Siemens support resources for help when they need it.
BluePrint-PCB is now delivered directly in the Xpedition software download

One of the most practical improvements in 2604 is the way BluePrint-PCB is delivered. With the integration of BluePrint in Xpedition, you can now manage the workflow to create new PCB documentation as well as ensure the documentation is updated throughout the design cycle. Accessing it is as simple as opening it up through the Application Launcher.
This direct integration helps create a seamless workflow between PCB design and documentation, ensuring documentation is a part of the design release process and not a separate afterthought.
BluePrint-PCB project data can be accessed through EDM via Xpedition Layout
In 2604, BluePrint-PCB data can be controlled through a managed design data process. All of the documentation rules created around BluePrint are checked into EDM by way of Xpedition Layout, allowing universal access to these rules and configurations for anyone with access. Within a Siemens EDA workflow, this allows even more of your design data to be easily located, managed and reused, supporting more disciplined release practices.
Global support through Siemens Support Center
The 2604 release of BluePrint-PCB also brings the product completely into the Siemens global support infrastructure. Customers can now access support through Siemens Support Center, including a growing body of knowledge base content, video tutorials, getting started materials and direct support resources. Currently there are nearly 100 Knowledge Base articles, dozens of video tutorials and active real time support currently in place, as well as all of the detailed documentation provided to all of our software offerings. On-demand training for BluePrint-PCB will become available in May 2026.
A stronger documentation flow for PCB design and manufacturing
BluePrint-PCB represents the de facto industry leader in PCB documentation creation. Whether integrating directly with Xpedition, PADS Professional and other Siemens tools, or operating as an agnostic tool used in additional EDA flows provided by Cadence, Altium and Zuken, BluePrint-PCB works to actively integrate documentation creation into the design process itself.

Really interesting update. It’s impressive to see how PCB design tools continue improving collaboration and workflow efficiency with every new release. I always enjoy reading about software that makes complex technical processes more practical and user-friendly. By the way, while exploring creative and professional websites recently, I also found https://alexandrastanic.com/ — very different field, but the same feeling of attention to detail and thoughtful presentation.
