In May this year we announced some exciting news about Siemens Xcelerator as a Service – the release of several new “X” offerings including Simcenter X.

(And the “X” means Software as a Service, or SaaS).

Put simply – Simcenter X is the next generation of Simcenter solutions. We have started by building a powerful cloud computing platform for running our current generation of Simcenter tools. This is now available for Simcenter STAR-CCM+ CFD software.

An accessible, flexible and scalable cloud HPC platform

Simcenter X advances the proven cloud platform that is already available for high performance computing (HPC) and adds the capability to build your CFD models on the cloud. Simcenter X gives you turnkey access to a range of virtual cluster options using pre-configured, optimized AWS infrastructure. It’s as easy as 1-2-3.

A new remote desktop environment for interactive work

With Simcenter X you can not only run demanding simulations but you can also create them from scratch and analyze them with interactive pre- and post-processing with the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ application accessed through a web browser. From the same Simcenter X workspace, you can launch a remote desktop session that transforms any device into an engineering-grade workstation.
