What’s new in Simcenter PSIM 2026.1?
Simcenter PSIM 2026.1 builds on the solid foundation introduced in PSIM 2026, bringing targeted enhancements that improve modeling accuracy, usability, and simulation efficiency for power electronics engineers.

A stronger modeling foundation in Simcenter PSIM 2026
The 2026 release introduced several important capabilities focused on more realistic component behavior and improved motor control workflows:
- Enhanced motor control design templates (MCDS)
- Separation of rotor reference angle and initial angle
- Automatic import of rotor reference angle from Flux® motor models
- Greater flexibility to define rotor initial position
→ Enables more accurate coupling between electromagnetic design and system simulation
- New nonlinear component models
- Nonlinear capacitor with voltage-dependent differential capacitance
- Nonlinear inductor with current-dependent differential inductance
→ Improves accuracy when simulating real component behavior under varying operating conditions
- Expanded control library
- New TPS7H6005 PWM controller model
→ Speeds up control design with ready-to-use device-specific models
- New TPS7H6005 PWM controller model
What’s new in Simcenter PSIM 2026.1?
- FMI/FMU import (co-simulation)
- Import and execute FMUs directly in Simcenter PSIM to enable co-simulation with external tools and supports system-level workflows
- New analysis and modeling blocks provide more flexibility for abstraction, faster simulation, and specific device modeling
- Average blocks (including impulse and variable frequency variants)
- New IGBT model (without diode)
- Improved solver licensing performance
- New pooling mechanism reduces latency from license checks which is particularly beneficial for batch runs and Design of Experiments (DOE)
