Predicting SIPART PS2 performance with Simcenter

In Karlsruhe – Germany – are located the Siemens Process Instrumentation offices. In May 2018, we had the privilege to visit one of the team based over there, who develops the SIPART PS2 – a positioner considered as the best-in-class in the market by the process industries players and analysts. What was the purpose of our visit? Meet Philippe Labalette project manager at Siemens Process Instrumentation in the research and development department and his colleague Robin Burger mechanical designer and simulation engineer in the same department, in order to better understand why they decided to opt for our technology and services, and what are their future expectations to keep bringing to the market high-quality product.

What are their engineering challenges? First, face the increasing complexity of electro-pneumatic devices. Second, reduce the development time to address strong competition. Third, analyze tens of thousands of test runs.

While having us visiting the process automation showroom they explained during our interview why in order to keep on a successful track, they had to develop the digital twin of the device.
