Basics of model-based systems engineering

If you are a design engineer, you have heard over and over again that model-based systems engineering (MBSE) brings multiple advantages, such as reduced design costs and time-to-market, better product quality, efficient collaboration between extended, geographically dispersed teams, etc. 

Indeed, all this sounds good and is critical to companies trying to survive in today’s highly-competitive environment.

But you might still have a very theoretical and vague view of this approach and ask yourself the following questions: What is exactly MBSE? How does it work? Does it really work? How to implement it in my particular case?
