NX receives IFC2x3 certifications from buildingSMART

By Drew Wilson

We are excited to announce that NX™ software, our flagship product for computer-aided design, engineering and manufacturing, has achieved IFC2x3 import and export certifications from buildingSMART International (bSI), the organization that develops and maintains open standards for the built environment. This means that NX can seamlessly exchange data and collaborate with other software applications that support the IFC2x3 standard, which is widely used in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry.

Obtaining the IFC2x3 certification is a testament to our commitment to openness and interoperability, which are essential for enabling digital transformation and innovation across different domains and disciplines. By supporting IFC2x3 Coordination View Structural, NX can participate and contribute to our customer’s workflows for building information modeling (BIM), which is a process that leverages digital technologies to optimize the planning, design, construction and operation of buildings and infrastructure.

Customers all the time tell me, ‘Don’t lock in our data. Give us choices. Give us flexibility.’ Today, NX offers over 25 bi-directional translators to go to and from the NX data format. Product openness is a key competitive advantage for the customers of NX to continue to innovate in the products they create based on the products they create based on the NX product.
