Siemens Digital Industries Software’s Designcenter is the most comprehensive software suite for product development that provides unique scalability and unmatched flexibility and functionality. Designcenter includes NX and Solid Edge product design and engineering software. With Designcenter X products, we are bringing you our known CAD software with all the flexibility, scalability and security benefits of cloud SaaS. With solutions from browser to desktop, Designcenter X products have configuration, entitlements and automatic updates in the cloud.
What is Designcenter X NX Academic Edition?
Designcenter X NX Academic Edition is a cloud SaaS CAD/CAM/CAE software for accredited academic institutions. The product package includes premium design, manufacturing and simulation features from Siemens’ Designcenter X NX and NX X Manufacturing plus access to the Teamcenter Share app, allowing for collaboration and secure data storage. Plus, with the included value-based licensing tokens, you can access over 140 specialized add-on modules from NX.
Designcenter X NX Academic Edition is a local installation that leverages named-user licensing with entitlement, configuration and updates in the cloud. With automatic updates following the same commercial continuous release cycle, you can access new features and capabilities at the same time as industry engineers.
What is included in Designcenter X NX Academic Edition?
Designcenter X NX Academic Edition is sold as a package. Each purchase includes:
- 200 named users licenses for Designcenter X NX Academic Edition software
- 5000 floating value-based licensing tokens for use across all named users
- Access to the Teamcenter Share app for each user
Administrators will also receive access to the Siemens Xcelerator Admin Console, where you can assign licenses and manage users. If you need more than 200 licenses for your students, you can purchase additional packages and all users will be on the same enterprise cloud account (ECA).
As this is a SaaS product, fully-managed license configuration, deployment, backups and automatic updates by Siemens are also included. For adopting and learning the software, free access to Siemens Xcelerator Academy on-demand training and the NX Curriculum Package are also available for students and educators.
