Structural Analysis of Dams

By AlRobertson

Ricerca sul Sistema Energetico (RSE) based in Milan, Italy, carries out specialized studies and research for companies operating in the hydroelectric sector. With structural analysis of dams, the simulation models generally have complex geometries and require a step-by-step approach to their construction. While the analysis is performed by in-house Fortran programs, these programs lack a graphical interface. So RSE uses Femap to create, mesh and manage the models, as well as postprocessing the results, passing model and results data back and forth in a neutral format.
