See your pulse travel at 1 femtosecond

By SusanCinadr

Kurt Vaillancourt from Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) from Menlo Park, CA gave an extremely good presentation on inter-part links in Solid Edge, packed with many tips. I am a fan of the sessions that are done by users where they share their knowledge, explain what works (and doesn’t) for them, the tests they do themselves and how it resonates with other users. And users listen since Kurt and team have been using Solid Edge since V1. They currently have 150 seats of Solid Edge installed.

He started the session with this very cool video that shows an animated tour of the two-mile-long linear accelerator from the injector gun to the Far Experimental Hall. The laser is modeled in Solid Edge and the pulse is traveling at one billionth of one millionth of a second which equals 1 femtosecond.
