How to create a request for quote (RFQ) in Zel X

Why are RFQs important?

With every business scanning the market for the best vendor for services, Zel X allows manufacturers to streamline this process in one ecosystem. The process in creating a RFQ is especially important in maintaining a consistent supply of a specific number of standard products. In this blog you’ll learn how to create and process a RFQ within Zel X.

Creating a RFQ in Zel X

1. Click on Requests tab in your project list view

2. Click on ‘Request a Quote’ button

3. Name the request and enter its due date

Preparing the request 

1. Add any data from the current project the supplier will need to prepare a quote

2. Select a file from the project (sketch, picture, text, drawing, 3D model) 

3. Review request content

4. Add the supplier(s) you’d like to get a quote from

5. Invite your supplier(s) to Zel X

Send the request out for quoting

1. Click on ‘Send Request’

2. After the request is sent two things will happen which is pictured below. First the supplier will receive an invitation via email and then the status will be updated from “New Request” to “Out for Quote”
