Our role as the PLM leader isn’t something that happened over night. We’ve been in the business of managing data and powering product innovation for 60 years!! In the earlier years, my dad worked for one of the companies that eventually became Siemens PLM. I remember stories of shake tables in the basement that would simulate the wear on tear on motorcycles and other products. They could run physical tests and capture data to improve design – pretty fancy at that time! Fast forward to today when you can run thousands of tests virtually on a fully digital product. We’ve proven time and time again that, as technology evolves, so do we.​

We introduced classification AI in Teamcenter a few years ago to help pre-populate classification fields and make recommendations on how parts should be organized. The Teamcenter SLM app for Salesforce is another great example of a solution that leverages the power of AI. The app uses Einstein, Salesforce’s AI technology, to scan knowledge articles created with data from service plans authored in Teamcenter. It uses that information to assist service teams – from processing customer service calls to performing service activities. AI + PLM connected with CRM accelerates servitization and supports a whole new way of approaching service to drive-up revenue, service efficiencies, and customer satisfaction.
