Last week marked the one-year anniversary since we first announced our strategic partnership with SAP. Since then, we’ve been working together closely to lay the groundwork for our cooperation and define the capabilities we plan to deliver, culminating in the recent publication of our joint roadmap. The Roadmap to the Digital Thread Across the Product Lifecycle outlines our joint plan for the integration of SAP S/4HANA and Siemens’ Teamcenter® software, which we will be delivering in three phases through the end of 2022, with additional phases planned beyond this time to address new digital threads.
This cooperation is more ambitious than just building a basic integration offering between adjacent software systems. It will deliver new capabilities for our customers and enable them to create value at scale. Here’s how Klaus Helmrich, Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and CEO of Siemens Digital Industries, described the vision of this strategic partnership in our initial announcement:
“This exciting collaboration between two industry leaders is about more than just interoperability and interfaces; it is about creating a truly integrated digital thread that unites product and asset lifecycle management with the business that enables customers to optimize production of products.”Klaus Helmrich, Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and CEO of Siemens Digital Industries
By creating a single digital thread, it’s our expectation that this cooperation between the market leaders in PLM and ERP will create significant value for our customers – by creating a sustainable product development process, dramatically improving time to value, and enabling our customers to design products with real-time supply chain.
