Listen … here goes an electric vehicle
Although electric vehicles are significantly quieter than vehicles with an internal combustion engine (ICE), they bring their own noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) challenges. Not only is their high-frequency tonal noise often perceived as annoying; also, traditional noise sources like wind or tire noise are no longer masked by the dominant ICE noise. In addition, the absence of exterior sound at low speeds is a concern for automotive original equipment manufacturers and regulators in terms of pedestrian safety, particularly for those with visual impairments.
In this on-demand webinar you can hear the difference between an internal combustion engine and an electric driven engine. It discusses the specific sound signature challenges for electric and hybrid electric vehicles and gives insight into how to break-down noise issues in a source-transfer-receiver concept.
