Engineering fun at Automotive Testing Expo Europe 2018
We’re getting ready for Automotive Testing Expo Europe 2018… and this year is going to be a blast! We’ve built, literally built, a new demo car for the purpose of the show and we’re giving life to its digital twin.
Giving birth to a brand-new electric vehicle
Our new electrically-powered vehicle is a Kyburz eRod. Never heard of it? Kyburz is better known for its range of small personal and delivery electric vehicles.
The eRod concept is born from the imagination of the company’s engineering team and its passionate owner, Martin Kyburz. The idea? Craft a new vehicle that is both fun to build and ride, in an eco-responsible way. The result? A sporty little vehicle that brings a bright smile on the face of every Siemens engineer.
We’ve made this vehicle our Simcenter demo car for the upcoming Automotive Testing Expo and we’ve been really busy building, testing and analyzing every part of it. Yes, the little car is do-it-yourself fun: have a look at the video below to see what our engineers went through.
Putting our Simcenter Testing Solutions into practice
We are not only having fun with our new demonstrator. We’re also seriously testing it. On the roads and on the roller bench, we’re using the best of our Simcenter Testing Solution portfolio to assess the eRod’s noise, vibration and durability performance.
If you’re ready for some engineering fun, come and visit us at Automotive Testing Expo Europe. We have quite some novelties in store – from the new capabilities in the latest release of Simcenter Testlab (formerly LMS Test.Lab) to innovative solutions for enhanced NVH engineering of hybrid and electric vehicles.
