Convergent Modeling – unifying incompatible technologies for 3D modeling

By JonR

A new article discusses how Siemens Digital Industries Software has made dramatic advances in 3D modeling with Parasolid Convergent Modeling technology by enabling product design and manufacturing engineers to work with previously incompatible facet and classic B-rep data sources.

Parasolid with Convergent Modeling is deployed in NX and Solid Edge software to support a new generation of modeling solutions such as generative design. The technology is also openly licensed to independent software vendors so that more design engineers can work with combinations of facet and B-rep model representations, regardless of their choice of application.
