Summary

Opcenter™ Execution Electronics (OC EX EL) software is a complete digital manufacturing solution for the electronics industry. It is built on an industry-leading manufacturing execution system (MES) platform for the electronics, medical device and semiconductor industries. Opcenter Execution Electronics is used in the electronics value chain for printed circuit boards (PCBs), mechanical and box-build processes.

The solution includes best-in-class manufacturing operations management (MOM) capabilities such as manufacturing execution, quality management, material management, planning and scheduling and manufacturing intelligence. This facilitates directly connecting to machines and production lines.

Electronics manufacturers can quickly execute new product introductions (NPIs) and reduce time-to-market, which increases their competitive advantage in a rapidly changing, consumer-driven marketplace.

Using Opcenter Execution Electronics 2504 in conjunction with Mendix™ Low-code platform, which are part of the Siemens Xcelerator business platform of software, hardware and services, helps deliver new enhancements to improve the application’s capabilities and security. The Mendix Low-code development framework and community of prebuilt marketplace components make it easy to create and deliver powerful, optimized and role-based apps.

Capabilities

Real time manufacturing operation page, material setup UI

• Visualize materials currently setup on the selected resource

• Show what materials are required based on any Feeder Plan as well as the material list (BOM) of the selected Mfg Order

• Previewing / assigning a new Feeder Plan to the resource to see what materials must be added or removed to meet requirements

• Perform the loading, replacing and removal of the materials to the resource

• View and set the Active Mfg Order on the Resource (containers which are not part of active order, will be blocked, interlocking)

Automatic depanel enhancement

• New option configurable on a Spec to control whether the “depanel” (disassociate) action takes place before or after the containers are moved from the step (each PCB will be moved based on standard movement logic)

• When configured to perform the disassociate before the move, each child container of the parent will then be moved individually and can move down different paths

• Supports the automatic rework functionality for failed container

Active manufacturing order enhancement

• Ability to assign an Active Mfg Order to a resource

• The Core Resource Setup and Electronics Setup Resource portal pages were updated to support assigning/clear the Active Mfg Order

• When an Active Mfg Order is assigned to a resource, it will prevent container transactions for containers that are not associated to the Active Mfg Order (interlocking)

Bill of Material (BOM) import

  • Import BOM file for product & mfg orders
  • Import wizard to guide through configuration
  • New products will be automatically generated
  • Possible to import hierarchical BOMs

Manufacturing order dispatch page enhancements

New options to search the manufacturing order grid by the following attributes: Product Type, Order Type, Order Status.

Core component issue and component issue advanced pages update

• To detect a default issue difference reason configured on the Spec and set it automatically if an issue difference is detected

Electronics installer enhancements

• Automatically activate the 200 workspace

• Enhanced the install to use JSON configuration files to allow for easy installation using Ansible or even PowerShell scripts to perform the installation

Production client – Use material setup

  • Possibility to configure in the spec, if last scanned material for the current Mfg Order will be filled in automatically
  • Automatic request scanning when material is exhausted
