What’s new in HyperLynx 2610

Accelerating PCB design analysis and verification with HyperLynx 2610 release

The HyperLynx 2610 release delivers a powerful set of capabilities designed to make PCB design analysis and verification faster, more intelligent, and deeply integrated across the entire product lifecycle. Building on AI-powered assistance and robust cross-domain workflows, version 2610 brings meaningful enhancements across all product lines: HyperLynx Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), Schematic Analysis (SA), Analog-Mixed Signal (AMS), DRC, Advanced Solvers, and Enterprise Data Management (EDM).

Here is a quick update on each of these core areas:

Schematic Analysis

Model creation and design management have been streamlined with key automation and enterprise integration features. Schematic Analysis is now fully supported within Enterprise Data Management (EDM), offering both integrated flows (for single-board projects) and standalone flows (for single- and multi-board projects). Additionally, the new Pin Treatment Wizard significantly enhances schematic pin mapping and verification efficiency.

Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Integration

HyperLynx 2610 introduces robust, native integration with Enterprise Data Management (EDM), bridging simulation workflows directly into enterprise data environments. Users can now launch and manage analyses seamlessly through structured data pipelines, supporting both integrated flows and standalone flows, ensuring complete traceability and collaboration across engineering teams.

Design Rule Check (DRC)

HL DRC 2610 focuses heavily on precision rule analysis and targeted verification. Through targeted rule analysis categorized by design area, engineers can streamline rule setup and execution across critical layout domains, effectively reducing false positives and targeting specific manufacturing and signal integrity constraints with greater confidence.

Analog-Mixed Signal (AMS) & Design Space Exploration (DSE)

Simulation performance and analysis flexibility receive significant boosts in this update. In addition to Questa ADMS, HyperLynx AMS now supports Siemens Questa Sim, enabling faster simulation runs and expanded capabilities. Furthermore, improvements to HL-DSE integration allow engineers to explore design trade-offs and variations more efficiently, while the brand-new Waveform Analyzer provides a modern, high-performance interface for inspecting analog and mixed-signal simulation results.

Power Integrity (PI)

Power integrity workflows see major capability expansions across AC analysis, DC analysis, and metrics visualization. Enhancements to AC analysis improve accuracy and modeling for complex power delivery networks, while the new DC Shared Return Analysis provides advanced insight into shared return paths and potential voltage drop issues. Usability is further reinforced by enhanced DC analysis reports and constraints, a DC Metrics Viewer that delivers direct and interactive metric inspection for post-layout DC drop analysis, and power network and passive component model improvements that simplify component modeling and visualization.

Signal Integrity (SI) – DDRx & Serial Links

High-speed verification tools are thoroughly enhanced for next-generation memory standards and massive performance scaling. For DDRx interface design and verification, the release introduces crucial CUDIMM support, SI Preview Wizard enhancements for faster pre-layout exploration, and batch wizard improvements that streamline full-interface simulations. For SerDes design and verification, engineers receive support for generic 100G PAMn IBIS-AMI models, CEI-112G-LINEAR-PAM4 signaling, high-accuracy eye diagram support, compliance and IBIS-AMI wizard improvements, and vital SerDes protocol additions and updates.

Advanced Solvers

Three-dimensional and high-frequency extraction workflows are faster and more tightly integrated in HyperLynx 2610. The introduction of semi-automated Spice Extraction and S-parameter Extraction flows simplifies complex electromagnetic analysis. These solver updates are complemented by improved results management for better tracking and comparison, as well as Huygens Box Export to FEKO, which enables a seamless handoff of electromagnetic fields from HyperLynx to FEKO for advanced antenna and system-level placement analysis.

AI-Powered Capabilities & Product Support Copilot

HyperLynx 2610 deeply expands its AI capabilities through the integration of the Product Support Copilot, which connects directly with the Siemens Fuse EDA AI System to provide instant documentation support across HyperLynx SI/PI, Schematic Analysis, Advanced Solvers, DRC, and AMS. This contextual, AI-driven interface allows users to query product documentation using natural language, significantly reducing time spent searching manuals, lowering the learning curve for new users, and streamlining overall application support.
