Maximizing Value: How Process Simulate X Value Based Licensing Transforms Your Workflow

In our previous post, we introduced Process Simulate X Value Based Licensing (VBL) as a flexible and cost-effective approach to accessing a broad range of manufacturing simulation capabilities. Now, let’s dive deeper into how this token-based system truly empowers your engineering workflow, from practical application to significant cost savings and innovative new features.

How Process Simulate X VBL Works in Practice

Let’s illustrate the dynamic nature of VBL with a practical example involving a configuration of five Process Simulate X Robotic Standard users and a 200-token value pack.

Imagine five users start their day, with 200 tokens available in the pool.

  • At 9:30 AM, User 1 initiates a VR Session, which consumes 60 tokens, leaving 140 available.
  • Just 15 minutes later, at 9:45 AM, User 2 begins using the Automatic Path Planner application that requires 106 tokens. The available tokens in the pool are now reduced to 34.
  • However, when User 1 concludes their VR session and closes Process Simulate at 10:15 AM, their 60 tokens are immediately returned to the pool, bringing the total back up to 94.
  • Finally, at 10:30 AM, User 4 starts utilizing the Cables application, which requires 53 tokens. The pool adjusts, leaving 41 tokens available.

This example highlights key aspects of VBL:

  • Tokens are assigned to a user only when the relevant capability is invoked
  • They are returned to the pool upon closing the application
  • While pulling VBL tokens from the pack requires an online connection, they can then be used in an offline mode.

Key Applications and Their Token Values

Process Simulate X VBL offers access to a wide array of powerful applications, each with an associated token value (as of December 2025):

  • VR Analysis: 60 tokens
  • Automatic Path Planner: 106 tokens
  • Cables: 53 tokens
  • Human Simulation: 108 tokens
  • Human Ergonomics Analysis Tools: 71 tokens
  • Process Simulate Motion Capture: 93 tokens

New with Process Simulate X 2512, several advanced manufacturing simulation  applications have been added, each requiring 26 tokens

  • Roller Hemming
  • ARC Welding – new workflows!
  • Material Handling (Bin Picking, Pick & Place) – new workflows!
  • Simulation AI-powered Copilot

The  Tecnomatix Process Simulate AI Copilot, an AI-powered coding assistant, is fully released with version 2512 of Process Simulate X and requires VBL tokens for its functionality. This helps usersreduce optimization time from potentially hours of manual work to just minutes. It also significantly lowers the expertise barrier, enabling a broader range of team members to contribute effectively to manufacturing simulation.

Unlocking More Value at a Lower Cost

Process Simulate X with Value Based Licensing consistently provides more value at a lower cost and simplifies product selection and quotation.

Flexible Licensing Options

You can also mix and match VBL with purchased add-on licenses. PS X VBL tokens are available in convenient packs of 25, 50, and 100, and are integrated with NX X Manufacturing packs, allowing for optimized purchases from a common pool.

Beyond Licensing: The Process Simulate X

Value Based Licensing is an integral part of the broader Process Simulate X cloud-based solution,  which aims to provide the most comprehensive digital twin possible. This platform includes:

  • Process Simulate for industry leading robotics and human simulation platform.
  • Process Simulate Collaborate for web-browser-based collaboration.
  • VR Cloud Collaboration for secure multi-user remote sessions.
  • Cloud Libraries for easy access to data.
  • Continue Your Journey with Process Simulate X

Process Simulate X, with its VBL and AI-powered technologies, is redefining manufacturing planning and simulation.
