Intosite Mobile Software Featured in upFront.eZine Story
In a recently published article in upFront.eZine, Editor Ralph Grabowski interviewed Aaron Frankel, director of product marketing, and Tali Segal, innovation lead in the Manufacturing Engineering Software segment of Siemens PLM, to learn more about Intosite mobile software.
Intosite is a cloud-based web application that maintains a 3D representation of a production facility, presents it in its geographical context, and allows users to navigate through the facility in the simple and familiar way users navigate Google Maps. The app runs in Web browers, as well as on iPads and Windows tablets.
I encourage you to read the entire piece at upFronteZine, and check out Ralph’s review of the app at WorldCAD Access Blog.
Here are some highlights from the article, “Intosite Mobile Software from Siemens PLM.”
“With Intosite, people can access information where they are, such as on the shop floor or at head office. We are making a digital twin of the production facilities,” said Tali Segal. “Intosite lets users overlay links to different systems on the factory floor, such as a video of the line in production, or a repair being made to the line. The data is then shared with remote users, or for creating best practices. It is a blend of physical and virtual worlds.”
Segal concluded, “ We see Intosite as a huge opportunity, and so we have several directions in mind: better collaboration tools, integration into other systems, and a version for Android. We are looking at better ways to connect and visualize information.“
