The video below walks you through how Teamcenter integrates with ECAD and MCAD. The video starts as an electronic engineer wants to create a layout design from the printed circuit board. The electronic engineer sends the design through Teamcenter to control the information flow to the mechanical board. This is happening while the mechanical engineer is concurrently developing the printed circuit board packaging space in the product context. The electronics engineer modifies the ECAD model in Xpedition to accommodate for thermal analysis among the components in the product platform. The electronics engineer communicates the modification and limitations back in Teamcenter. The mechanical engineer receives the modifications through the collaboration context into NX model and make the decision to update the Printed Circuit Board in the MCAD design.
This process improves the communications between the electronic and the mechanical engineers using the Teamcenter integrations and solves the problem of wrong designs that leads to manufacturing an incompatible product (printed circuit board assembly).
