Create customized designs faster, smarter and easier with Solid Edge Design Configurator
Solid Edge Design Configurator introduces new features to help you create customized designs faster, smarter and easier. Automatically create drawings using the QuickSheet template specified in the action. For each model type, it is possible to specify which QuickSheet template to use, making it easy to configure your drawings to fit your specifications now and in the future.
New Quick Actions automatically create the input variable and perform the action related to the input variable on the model in future steps. The new Quick Actions include Add Variables, Add Properties, Add Materials, Add Families and Add Exports, reducing the number of steps required and streamlining the process of creating input fields and related actions.
The new Arrange/Retrieve Dimension action option in QuickSheet provides the ability to retrieve all dimensions from the model, fit them to the view and scale the views to the best scale ratio to fit on the sheet, cleaning up your model and dimension view.
The new Assembly Configuration action enables more control over your assembly configurations. Create custom configurations that define which components are visible and update existing configurations to adjust visibility settings as needed. You can also activate specific configurations to make them the active view for the assembly or deactivate configurations to temporarily hide them from the view.
The Save As action now has an additional option that allows you to save all assembly files to a specific folder, helping you stay organized and save time when saving and retrieving files.
The new Reference model text field tag allows you to select a model in the graphics window and derive the name of the specified model as input data. When renaming a variable, existing rules are taken into account, and you are given the option to change the name of all related variables or only the one. The new Diameter numeric field tag quickly and easily measures distances between faces, edges and points directly on the model geometry. The new Loop action uses the list of specified models collected through an input field to perform a variety of actions within a loop. All of the new tags and actions in the text input field make it easier to identify, specify and use characteristics of the model.
Editing values in a Microsoft Excel® file is done within the .xlsx files to ensure data integrity when exporting or importing, and enhanced RDBasic functions can be used to extract data from models, such as links, names and features. This is useful in deciding what actions to take next when retrieving information and implementing rules and expressions in the models.
