Students with electric dreams at the heart of Motorsport Valley
Motorsport Valley is a term often used to describe a geographic region in the UK which some consider to be the global centre for motorsport. To help support this claim an astonishing 75% of the world’s Formula 1 teams are based within a 50 mile radius of the famous Silverstone circuit. There are also over 3,500 companies associated with motorsport based in Motorsport Valley, employing around 40,000 people, which represents around 80% of the world’s high-performance engineers.
There’s now a new team in the Valley; CopseGP Racing (@CopseGPRacing).
Named after Copse Corner on the Silverstone circuit (home of the British Grand Prix) this small motorsport team is made up of students attending the Silverstone UTC ; a school for students aged 14 to 19 years of age located just a few metres from the Silverstone track.
Siemens PLM, in partnership with channel partner Majenta PLM, has developed a successful and longterm partnership with Silverstone UTC and supports the project-based-learning philosophy of the school. One of the main projects within the Silverstone UTC is the Greenpower Electric Car Challenge with CopseGP Racing setting a high standard.
