Enabling nanoscale precision to the semiconductor industry

By Rajesh Ramaya Selvaraj

PM-Bearings located in the Netherlands at Dedemsvaart, is an innovator in ultra-high-precision linear bearings and positioning systems, supplies linear motion slides to the high-end semiconductor, medical device and machine tool industries with enormous customization requirements.  The common trend in the semiconductor industry to make chips smaller and smaller have pushed the precision limits of the bearing and linear slides made by the company.

The digitalization of the product development is a game changer mitigating several risks associated with customization while delivering precision bearings faster to the market. The team has been using NX-CAD software for design, Simcenter 3D software for performance engineering, NX-CAM software for manufacturing engineering and Teamcenter for providing accurate product data to the whole team.

Watch Jan Willem Ridderinkhof and his team explaining their approach and the solutions to challenging precision requirements demanded by their clients.
