CENIT integrates KineoWorks for automated collision-free path planning

Stuttgart, Germany – CENIT, an internationally successful IT enterprise specializing in software solutions, services and consulting, has announced the integration of Siemens KineoWorks automated path planning technology into its FASTSUITE product line.
This integration enables FASTSUITE customers to benefit from streamlined robot programming and path generation, helping to significantly reduce programming time and costs.
FASTSUITE is CENIT’s flagship software product for industrial robot automation, serving customers in heavy machinery, aerospace, and automotive industries.
CENIT develops the majority of the solutions and capabilities in-house, its main focus being to deliver best-in-class functionality with clear added value and differentiation from competitive products. However, the “do it ourselves” approach hasn’t always proven to be the most effective strategy. In-house development can come with significant effort, long timelines, and increasing maintenance costs.
To provide the most efficient, robust path planning capabilities for robot programming, CENIT decided to integrate Siemens’ proven path planning technology KineoWorks into FASTSUITE, rather than rebuilding these capabilities from scratch. This allows FASTSUITE users to automatically generate robot paths and trajectories, reducing programming time from 5 days down to just 2-3 hours in many cases.
Integrating KineoWorks has been a gamechanger for us. It has allowed us to deliver advanced robot programming functionality to our customers much faster. The time and cost savings have been substantial.
Jens Fetzer, Senior VP, Digital Factory solutions
In addition to the KineoWorks integration, CENIT also leverages the Parasolid kernel for exchanging tooling and whole cell layout data without losing that valuable project data while programming parts using true curves or surfaces. This end-to-end integration allows users to automatically generate robot paths directly from CAD data, further streamlining the programming process.
“We are excited to partner with CENIT and support the continued evolution of their FASTSUITE solution,” said Evan Knuttila, Vice President of Global Sales – PLM Components . “Our automated path planning technology is a natural fit for CENIT’s focus on delivering cutting-edge robot automation capabilities to their customers.”
The KineoWorks-powered FASTSUITE solution is now available to CENIT customers worldwide. For more information, please visit Cenit.com/FASTSUITE.
