Tedious FMEDA process got you down? Read on!
Automotive designs require functional safety analyses, typically accomplished using Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA).
FMEDAs are used to determine each safety goal’s diagnostic coverage, which in turn determines if the design will meet the targeted ASIL requirements.
However, if you have ever written an FMEDA, you know what a repetitive, tedious task this can be.
Mentor Consulting Division (MCD) functional safety experts Chuck Battikha and Doug Smith have written a whitepaper to help clarify the process. Entitled “Push-button FMEDAs for Automotive Safety: Automating a Tedious Task“, this document shares a push-button solution for creating and automating the FMEDA process. It is available now for either download or online viewing.
If you need help starting, automating, or performing your functional safety process, Mentor Consulting services are available today to help you bring your automotive design to market successfully. Contact your Mentor representative or email MCD directly at Mentor_Consulting@mentor.com.
