Designcenter is for everyone | June 2026 release

Designcenter™ software is for everyone, and we’re incredibly excited to announce that the June 2026 release is now available to download. The latest release marks a significant step forward, delivering a truly connected, intelligent, and scalable design environment.

Building on the strength of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, this release introduces a powerful combination of AI-driven productivity, cloud-enabled collaboration, digital thread continuity, and immersive engineering experiences.

What’s new June 2026 release video is now LIVE!

Our release day video is back and is better than ever. This year, the video has a new look and feel, with more presenters, and behind-the-scenes developer interviews.

The release day video shines the spotlight on AI tools to make product design more efficient, how you can leverage Designcenter X for powerful cloud collaboration. What’s more, we’ve focused on Designcenter’s dedicated ship design solution, and our continued Immersive Engineering innovations.

Designcenter | The big name update

There’s only one place to start; effective from the June 2026 release, our on-premise and cloud solutions will have a brand-new name. Designcenter™ NX™ software will be known as Designcenter, whilst Designcenter X NX will switch to Designcenter X. We want to ensure that you can design for the future, using all capabilities, irrespective of if you are working in the browser or on desktop.

You can still choose from four tiers in Designcenter X, including:

These tiers will help you scale seamlessly on the same architecture and part file, so you can start with exactly what you need today and grow without disruption.

It’s the most comprehensive, uniquely scalable solution on the market, enabling an unmatched level of flexibility through dynamic design options and seamless integration across domains and data environments.

What’s more, Designcenter™ Solid Edge® software is now part of the Designcenter umbrella, but will NOT be impacted by the new naming conventions. This also includes the browser version, which will stay as Designcenter SolidEdge X.

AI-powered productivity: From assistance to intelligence

AI is at the heart of this release, driving a new generation of smarter engineering workflows. AI has been ingrained in new capabilities we have been bringing to the market for several years now, ensuring that AI solutions are deeply embedded for our users. Today, these AI-powered capabilities are used over 500,000 times every month! That’s real-time that engineers are getting back every day.

2019 saw the introduction of Command Prediction, whilst subsequent years saw Topology Optimization, PMI Annotation Predictions and Voice Commands added to Designcenter. And now, we’re at the next shift; Co-pilot.

Designcenter Copilot | Embedded expertise

Copilot puts expert-level guidance directly inside your workflows, so you can spend more time refining your designs and less time looking things up. You can get instant answers grounded in Designcenter documentation and best practices, ensuring you receive context-aware guidance based on your current tasks.

What’s more, Copilot understands your context and conversation history to deliver faster, more accurate and personalized responses. It will respond based on your active application and tasks so answers are always relevant. Whilst also saving past conversations so you can pick up where you left off.

Copilot is transforming how engineers interact with our software, resulting in us moving from predictive AI, through agentic AI and toward generic AI, all built around the language of engineering, and not generic chat.

Cloud Collaboration: Real-Time, Connected Engineering

Cloud capabilities in Designcenter continue to go from strength to strength, building on a strong foundation in previous releases and evolving into a truly connected environment. We’re transforming how you interact with both data and each other, moving from isolated workflows to fully synchronized, real-time engineering experiences. Let’s see how this is possible by using Live Share.

Live Share

Live share in Designcenter enables real-time collaborative authoring, all whilst preserving proven security and business logic. Multiple users can work simultaneously on the same design and make concurrent edits of the same assembly. In this latest release of Designcenter, new capabilities improve usability, including automatic synchronization of customer defaults and greater user representation through Microsoft 365 profile-based avatars.

Live Share also expands into more immersive and functionally rich scenarios, including concurrent multi-user PMI operations with fully data model consistency across participants. Any actions performed by one user are instantly seen by others, enhancing the accuracy and trust within a shared environment.

And finally, you can now launch into an immersive session whilst in a Live Share meeting. By doing so, you’ll instantaneously see live updates coming in from colleagues directly inside the immersive environment.

What’s more, you can also work in an Immersive Designer session using the Sony HMD as part of a Live Share meeting. These new capabilities continue to position Live Share as a cornerstone of simultaneous engineering within Designcenter.

Digital Threads

A new way to access Designcenter applications

Listening to your feedback and ensuring the way in which you work with Designcenter to remain efficient is essential. Focusing on how we’re taking digital threads to the next level, there is a new way to access all applications that matter to you. Your active application is displayed at the top of the Designcenter window as before, but we’ve added a drop down menu for any additional applications.

By adding this new navigation option in Designcenter, you can now more easily find, manage and switch functionalities that you need. It’s a streamlined approach, with clearer categorization and enhanced navigation, ultimately translating into a more productive and user-friendly experience.

Extended-scale modeling

Extended-scale modeling introduces a major leap in flexibility by enabling you to work seamlessly across a range of use cases. From nanometer-level features used in micro-electronics and to multi-kilometer conceptual designs for large infrastructure projects, we’re removing size constraints traditionally found in CAD.

We’re embracing the future with Designcenter. By supporting both extremely small and exceptionally large geometries within the same environment, you can now tackle diverse and complex engineering challenges without changing tools or workflows. It’s further proof that we’re enabling users to spend more time on the decisions that matter the most.

Immersive Engineering | Unconstrained Engineering

Immersive Engineering in Designcenter continues to revolutionize product engineering, providing the only fully integrated integrated immersive design environment. We’ve been hard at work incorporating new game changing features, so that you can explore your digital twins quickly, easily and in an immersive environment.

Immersive for manufacturing

A key highlight for this latest release of Designcenter is the ability to experience manufacturing in an immersive environment. You can view models and machine simulation to conduct in-depth part manufacturing reviews. As well as this, you can move freely around your CAM setup in both the immersive environment, as well as through your desktop experience. It’s a real game changer that enables you to review every single detail, laying the foundations for a more refined design review as a result.

USD loading

The ability to load USD (Universal Scene Description into an immersive environment is key, enabling more connected workflows in Designcenter. You can now load USD files directly into an Immersive session, enabling seamless visualization of simulation data like STAR-CCM+.

This is only the beginning; whilst this new capability focuses on standalone data rather than combined CAD workflows, it establishes a strong foundation for integrating external 3D content into immersive experiences. Designcenter is expanding how teams can explore, review and gain insight from complex data in a more visual and interactive way

Jamie Tyler
Senior Marketing Coordinator - Siemens Digital Industries Software

Business Studies was Jamie's degree of choice at university, which he tailored to marketing during his final year. He's always been intrigued by the role high-quality visualization plays in product design. Jamie's first job out of university was with an SDK renderer, giving him the writing experience he needed to tailor visualization content across a range of industries. He also previously worked at Sheffield Hallam University, where he provided key marketing support to students embarking on their journey through higher education. Since joining Siemens Digital Industries Software in 2018, Jamie has built on his visualization expertise to create content across a wide breadth of disciplines. Whilst at Siemens, he has developed his expertise with Designcenter NX CAD software, alongside other Siemens Xcelerator products, including Teamcenter, NX CAM and Simcenter. It's rather fitting that Jamie's story has come full circle with regards to visualization; Jamie is heavily involved in Immersive Engineering; a new collaboration between Sony and Siemens that combines a new XR headset with Immersive Designer; a software package developed by Siemens Digital Industries Software.
