In 2022, Cambodia, the Memorandum of Agreements (MoUs) were signed separately between Siemens Digital Industries Software, the Ministry of Environment (MoE)Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC)Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT), and STEAMING Cambodia (SC) for addressing the skills demands in manufacturing and industry 4.0 as well as solving environmental solutions. Siemens Digital Industries Software Academic Program software delivers software and technology for schools at every academic level.

Furthermore, the collaboration with Singapore (Cambodia) International Academy (SCIA), we are having STEAMING Cambodia (SC) and Singapore (Cambodia) International Academy (SCIA) in a separate memorandum to support SCIA STEM Academic in Cambodia from Level 1-Level 6 students.

The MoUs allow for entities entering into the collaboration to perform human engineering resources for environmental solutions and building engineering, technology, and digital skills for Industry 4.0 in Cambodia. As part of these MoUs, the schools mentioned above have become Siemens Academic Partners and can use Siemens Digital industries Software technology to certify digital, technology, and engineering talents for industry 4.0. The schools will consider Siemens as an industrial technology partner to leverage Siemens knowledge, experiences, and expertise for the human resources training. STEAMING Cambodia will support schools with the software and other services to equip the students with the necessary skills to succeed in the Industry 4.0 world. Siemens is committed to providing schools with its technology and resources to promote world-class education and training and empower the next generations of engineering, technology, and digital talents in Cambodia.

Under the coordination of STEAMING Cambodia, Siemens will also support the MoE in providing curriculum, technical training for students, certification programs, and career opportunities to students from the ITC and CADT. All parties agreed mutually to strengthen their partnership in establishing the Academia 4.0 Program and developing the Cambodia Industry 4.0 Transformation Center. The Academia 4.0 Program aims to support students from the three universities with engineering, technology, and digital skills using licensed software from Siemens. Students from the ITC and CADT also benefit from the Academia 4.0 Program to certify themselves with internationally recognized skills in using Siemens software.

For the first phase, two of Siemens’ software products from its Xcelerator portfolio of software and servicesSolid Edge® and NX™ software are expected to be utilized by the above universities. Solid Edge® is an intuitive product development software for accelerating all aspects of product creation, including 3D design, simulation, visualization, manufacturing, and design management. NX™ software is a leading integrated solution for computer-aided design, manufacturing, and engineering (CAD/CAM/CAE). Meanwhile, the Cambodia Industry 4.0 Transformation Center will include training equipment to support the training and digitalization journey of Cambodia’s Industry 4.0 practically and effectively.

Benefits for the Schools and Students

About 200 students in each school mentioned will be benefited with the same technology that companies worldwide depend on every day to develop innovative products in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, machinery, shipbuilding, high-tech electronics, and many more. Graduates with this type of software training are highly-recruited candidates for advanced technology jobs. As the industry evolves, the graduates’ STEM skills must evolve to keep up with the future of manufacturing. This technology from Siemens Digital Industries Software will help ensure our students have the skills necessary to succeed in the Industry 4.0 world.

Young kids in SCIA can learn the digital mindset for their early age to empower their a digital skillset.
