After the launch of our NX Student Edition and the release of the NX Certification, we just launched another free curriculum resource for students, educators and independent learners all over the world. The completely revised and updated edition of the “NX Curriculum for Engineering Design” is now available as a PDF download.
The word “curriculum” derives from the Latin word for “race”, describing a journey from a starting point to a destination. This curriculum acts as a guide and shows you how to get from start to end and become a proficient and certified NX user!
The NX Curriculum is an extensive, self-guided tutorial set from Professor Ming C. Leu, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology. It provides a step-by-step approach for users learning NX. While this curriculum was developed for those with no previous experience with NX, users with NX experience may also find this tutorial helpful to learn the new user interfaces and functions. The book is illustrated with clear screenshots of the NX user interface and images of part models. These models are also included to download and use.
The manual begins with NX essentials like the NX user interface and then moves on to sketching and the design and modeling of parts. Introduction to assembly modeling, free-form modeling, drawing creation and design simulation are covered as you progress through the e-book. There is also a chapter on the real-time experience of implementing a model into a manufacturing environment for machining. The last chapter covers topics like convergent modeling, process automation and sheet metal.
The chapters include links to over 40 YouTube videos which explain the most important topics in more detail. The videos are linked throughout the book and thus engage learners’ attention. Teachers and students in courses covering computer-aided design, as well as independent learners should check out the new NX Curriculum today!
