Siemens and ArtiMinds Robotics enable advanced robotics for complex electronics assembly

By Stephanie Aldrete

Siemens and ArtiMinds Robotics, a Frontier Partner Program member, have integrated the ArtiMinds Robot Programming Suite (RPS) into the Siemens Process Simulate framework to enable a new level of flexible robot use in production.

Process Simulate is used for both layout design and factory simulation. The ArtiMinds RPS plug-in provides functionalities for intuitive programming of complex robot tasks. By using force and vision adaptive motions, part tolerances and variances can be handled robustly. Intrinsic error handling increases process reliability and allows for critical tasks such as insertion with a defined force.

Applications in the domain of electronics assembly indicate the advantages of force and vision adaptive motions. At the same time, typical factory setups and production volumes justify digital factory planning and validation through simulation.
