Polar Electro Brings Together Mechanical and Electronic Product Development

Fitness watches push the boundaries of mechanical and electronic product development.

They started as plastic bands that were worn around your wrist, not much more attractive than a hair tie, or big clunky watches. Now they’re sleek and modern, loaded with more features than ever … and connected to any smart device!

Technology packs complex performance data in a tiny package. High-end fitness watches are designed to be comfortable and attractive enough to wear 24/7 from business to casual to workouts to sleep.

One of the world’s leading brands is Polar Electro, which pushes the limits of wearable fitness technology by bringing together mechanical and electronic product development using Teamcenter, NX, and Mentor.

For Teamcenter users, the accessible, intuitive, and easy-to-use Active Workspace client is critical to PLM training and adoption.

“Active Workspace is a tool which is very easy to use. If I need to train some end-users … it’s very clear to show them how they should work there. For example, search functionality is awesome!” — Maarit Ojala, Polar Electro

  • It’s always interesting to see how companies blend mechanical and electronic design, especially in wearables where tiny details make a huge difference in the final user experience. Half the time, people don’t even realize how much engineering goes into making something feel “simple” on the wrist. When I started using fitness apps alongside wearables, I had to sort out some subscription questions too, and the info at https://support.madmuscles.com/hc/en-gb/sections/7075739636626-Subscriptions helped me keep everything organized. From my experience, good tech only works well when the behind-the-scenes stuff is just as smooth as the hardware.
