Realize LIVE Europe: Customers powering digital transformation

Digital transformation keynote
Group SEB digital transformation journey

Realize LIVE day three opened with a bang and we flew through the highlights of the previous two days.  Digital transformation is happening, and it’s happening fast.  Magnus opened with a celebration of speed; the outstanding speed attendees had changed the wheel on the F1 simulator.  With more than 500-wheel changes during the event a time of 9.12 seconds by Erick Nordholm was spectacular.

The General Session focus for the final day was on our customers, and Oliver Pellerin from SEB Group opened the presentations.  SEB Group, a company that traces it’s roots back to 1857 when digitalisation was not even a dream.

It’s been quite the journey to today where SEB Group now sells 13 products every second!  Oliver shared how localisation of global product lines would simply not be possible without a digital backbone, the backbone provided by Teamcenter.  Maintaining a portfolio of consumer products can mean up to 8,000 changes to datasets every week.  There is no space for inaccuracy or delay.

SSI Shafer were up next, the global intralogistics company with the motto ‘Think tomorrow’.  They build a living digital twin always with the goal of improvement end-to-end. The strong message we heard, just like with Navantia in day two, is the importance of people in the process.  Technology is an enabler, but the culture and the processes must be right.
