What’s New in D-Cubed 2D DCM and PGM Version 80.0
The new release of D-Cubed 2D DCM and PGM v80.0 is now available, delivering new capabilities that help software developers create more advanced, scalable, and maintainable sketching applications.
This release combines customer-driven enhancements with continued innovation in parametric design, backward compatibility, performance, and platform support.
Advancing Parametric Design with D-Cubed 2D DCM
D-Cubed 2D DCM remains the market-leading 2D geometric constraint solver, enabling intelligent, parametrically driven sketching workflows and helping engineering software applications accurately capture design intent.
Version 80.0 extends the capabilities introduced in previous releases with several enhancements:
Expanded Equal Value Constraint Support
The Equal Value Constraint, introduced in v79.0, allows multiple dimensions of different types to share the same value. In v80.0, support has been extended to include arc length dimensions, providing additional flexibility when defining and controlling sketch behavior.
Dynamic Size Value Editing
By using 2D DCM’s dynamic evaluation technology, applications can drag elements to a different location in the model and as geometry is moved, the solver recalculates the model in real time, preserving design intent while maintaining existing dimensions and constraints.
In v 80.0, this interactive workflow is extended beyond geometry manipulation by allowing applications to directly drag and modify the shared size value of an equal value constraint, making it easier to drive multiple related dimensions from a single interactive action.

Improved Solver Performance and Robustness
This release includes enhanced identification and handling of over-constrained models, together with various solver improvements affecting tangencies, under-defined solutions, and larger models. In addition, native exception handling delivers improved Web Assembly performance.
General Versioning: A Foundation for Long-Term Compatibility
Both D-Cubed 2D DCM and D-Cubed PGM introduce General Versioning (Beta), a new capability designed to support backward compatibility across releases. Applications can request behavior corresponding to a previous shipped version, allowing developers to adopt new releases while preserving existing model behavior and customer data.
When an older behavior version is selected, newer functionality is disabled and configuration values can be aligned with the selected historical release. This provides a framework for smoother upgrades and long-term stability as D-Cubed technology continues to evolve. General Versioning is introduced as a beta capability in v80.0 and is expected to progress further in future releases.

D-Cubed PGM: Improved Scalability for Advanced Sketching
D-Cubed PGM extends geometry management beyond individual curves to profile-level operations such as offsets, trimming, area and length dimensions, and loop-based constraints. Seamlessly compatible with 2D DCM, it enables sophisticated sketching workflows while reducing implementation complexity for application developers.
Parallel Partition Evaluation
A key enhancement in PGM v80.0 is support for parallel partition evaluation in models containing PGM data. Partitioning automatically divides a model into independent sub-models, allowing the solver to generate tasks that can be executed in parallel by the host application.
Previously delivered as beta functionality for PGM models in v79.0, partition evaluation is now a supported feature in v80.0. This enhancement expands performance and scalability potential while preserving existing integration approaches and interfaces.
Broader Deployment Options
Version 80.0 also highlights continued investment in deployment flexibility through Web Assembly support. Both D-Cubed 2D DCM and PGM can be deployed across a broad range of supported environments, providing application developers with additional options for delivering advanced sketching technology across modern platforms. .NET and Python wrappers continue to be available to simplify integration.

Delivering Greater Value to Engineering Software Developerst
With Version 80.0, D-Cubed combines enhanced parametric design capabilities, improved scalability, stronger backward compatibility foundations, and expanded deployment flexibility. Whether developers are building interactive sketchers, CAD applications, or engineering design solutions, D-Cubed 2D DCM and PGM provide the technology foundation needed to deliver robust, intelligent, and highly responsive design experiences.
D-Cubed 2D DCM v80.0 and D-Cubed PGM v80.0 are available now as part of the Siemens D-Cubed components portfolio.
