Enhancing architectural simulation applications with high quality visuals

By Shannon McGinty

A new article discusses how Siemens Digital Industries Software has enabled AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) company, TIAN Building Engineering, to create high quality, interactive visuals within architectural simulation.

TIAN’s leading product, BIM HVACTool allows companies to perform a wide range of simulations including computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to building ventilation and emissions, energy simulation for thermal comfort, and daylight analysis for light/shade studies and solar energy modelling. TIAN wanted to provide its customers with the optimum building visualization tool – one that would create beautifully rendered images without slow computation times. Having evaluated the performance of alternative software technologies, the company chose to license Iray+ for prototyping a new option for photorealistic imaging in BIM HVACTool.

Iray+ uses state-of-the-art techniques to create superior visuals that bring ideas to life. TIAN found it is able to accurately and quickly replicate complex interactions between light rays and materials, enabling designers to see their ideas as close to reality as possible.
