What´s new in Opcenter Execution Semiconductor 2504

Delivering improved user experience and executional excellence

Summary

Siemens Opcenter™ Execution Semiconductor is a comprehensive manufacturing execution system (MES) that enables both wafer fabrication factories and assembly and test sites to meet traceability requirements, control production and integrate the shop floor into their enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and extended enterprise. Siemens Opcenter Execution Semiconductor addresses your needs on a configurable, scalable, and modular platform for production.

This release contains the GA release of the Semi-Electronics Synergy functionality with extensions, Line Assignment support of WIP Main Simple, new feature that enables Critical Ratio calculation within Dispatch and Scheduling solutions, support of containerized deployments, enhancements to SPC sub-grouping, optimizes rework sub-workflow control, and more.

Benefits

  • General release of synergy with extensions on the ability to execute Semiconductor and Electronics MES functionality in a single environment,
  • Continue delivering user interfaces built on the Mendix Low code platform; continuing our transformation of the Opcenter Execution Core product family to implement role-based, process centric, smart user interfaces that will revolutionize the user experience.
  • New feature that will enhance Dispatch and Scheduling solutions plus additional enhancements

Features and enhancements

Semiconductor – Electronics synergy

The 2504 release is the General Release of this functionality. It was released in 2410 as a technical preview.

The Synergy solution enables vertically integrated manufacturing through the ability to execute Semiconductor and Electronics functionality within a single MES environment.

Within a workflow, the synergy functionality enables the mixture of Electronics and Semiconductor functionality for lots started on the environment.

  • An example is having a pick and place, SMT, Optical Inspection and Repair process steps within a semiconductor backend assembly workflow supporting SIP and MCM builds.

Fully tested Synergy use cases.

Line assignment for WIP main simple

WIP Main Simple has been enabled to support Line Assignment definitions to be used as default process area

  • Setting the Line Assignment from the Settings icon in Menu bar populates the WIP Main Simple Lot and Equipment lists for the configured Line Assignment.

Remaining process time feature

The Remaining Process Time (RPT) value is a required parameter for OTD Critical Ratio calculation utilized by Dispatch and Scheduling solutions and will be incorporated into the new Event based Dispatch solution coming later this year.

This new feature calculates the remaining process time (RPT) for a lot. The value is stored for the lot at each step as it is being processed through the workflow. The 2504 release is an evaluation release for this functionality. The general release is planned for the 2510 release.

The functionality has 2 components

  • RPT Engine – This component has configuration requirements within modeling objects to enable the RPT calculation functionality which also verifies calculated RPT values to RPT Control limits during lot processing.
  • RPT Control Loop – The configurable RPT Control Loop periodically analyzes historic RPT values to establish control limits used by the RPT engine to verify calculated RPT values.

Containerization support for Semiconductor

The 2504 release will introduce our first container image of the Opcenter Execution Semiconductor product. Customers can now deploy the Semiconductor product on containerized environments

  • This container image supports deployments to the Azure platform with an Oracle database.
  • The container image includes Semi printing functionality

Dynamic subgrouping for inline SPC variable charts

Allows users to select a Subgroup method; either Wafer or Lot

Data collected will be sub-grouped based on Subgroup method for SPC analysis and charting.

SPC Charts supported are X-bar, Range, Standard Deviation and Median

Semiconductor summary tables for reporting

The 2504 release will start the productization of the Semi PowerBI reporting catalyst.

The 2504 release will introduce the Semi summary tables that the Power BI reports will utilize.

The Semi PowerBI reports will be released starting in the 2510 release.

Factory hierarchy enhancement

This new feature provides a hierarchy view of an enterprise to factory to resources (area or equipment).

  • The hierarchy is built through object modeling fields to define the factory level and factory level index
  • New Factory Hierarchy UI to view the factory hierarchy and selection of the underlaying level opens the corresponding modeling instance

Rework logic enhancements

Delivers optimized rework logic to resolve issues with rework processing within sub-workflows.

  • The optimized rework logic aligns to the Core rework methodology which improves support of sub-workflow processing

New Core technology and features available in Semi

REST API enhancements

  • Extends action attributes to shop floor transactions by adding support for list item and advanced perform event attributes
    • Provides the ability to manage cross-origin resource sharing (CORS) via configuration
    • Enhances file uploading
    • Reduces the time required to generate the entity data model (EDM)
    • Improves error logging with a new user interface
    • Delivers discoverability enhancements with a new type attribute and optimized Swagger schema

Additional enhancements

Updates the styling of several Portal controls including:

  • Hover, pressed and focused states on the accordion control
    • Empty page state
    • Vertical command bar
    • Login page fonts and spacing
    • Disables login button until user credentials are entered
    • Enlarges checkboxes and radio buttons to be more touch friendly
    • Adds the focus state to the breadcrumb on the manufacturing audit trail page

Technology enhancements

  • Chrome 134+
    • Edge Chromium 134+
    • Siemens Mendix runtime server 10.18.0
    • Siemens SPC common component 2412
    • Axios 1.7.9
    • express js 4.21.2
    • Npgsql 8.06
    • Xyflow 12.3.4
