Meet Future Engineer Lubov Voitova

design contest winner

Lubov Voitova won first place in our recent student design contest in Russia. She is a fifth year student of Belgorod Shukhov State Technological University. Lubov submitted this kinematics and dynamics runner optimization analysis project developed with NX and Teamcenter.

Runners do coarse grinding or fine milling of lime, clay and other materials. Lubov submitted her design in our first ever “Daring Ideas” student design contest held in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. The objective was to discover research and creative ideas of engineering students who use modern design technologies.

Here is more from Lubov:

Please tell us about the project and any challenges you faced.

Working on my project was combined with designing for my thesis paper. The scope of work was incredibly large within a short timeframe. So I had to work hard. I faced lots of challenges, some tasks had to be redone, and I am grateful to my thesis supervisor, the professor of mechanics theory of my university, Mikhail Yeltsov. He helped me to cope with the challenges.”

What are your plans for the future? Will winning in the contest impact your career?
At the moment I am already working as a design engineer. Hopefully, my participation in the contest will benefit to a promotion and open new career horizons and opportunities.”

Lubov is one of three winners I’ll feature here on the blog. Stay tuned for the second and third place winning designs.
