HP’s 3D Display and Color Printing Without Those Goofy Glasses

It looked like an optical illusion. I met briefly with Brian Armstrong of HP to find out what they were showcasing in their partner booth at PLM Connection. I was looking at a big screen displaying a camshaft from an NX window. It looked like it was jumping right our of the screen. No need for 3D glasses. Even more compelling was the 3D color printer they had in their booth – cutting parts right there at the conference. Check out the video to see it in action:



Since Brian mentioned Service Lifecycle Management in our interview I wanted to find out a little more about it. Here is a presentation Markus Brandis from HP gave at the event. He noted SLM is the final step in the PLM process. Slides 11-12 give a good overview.
