Free Design Software at the SEMA Show

By MarkBurhop

If you like to mod cars or do your own specialty 3D designs for custom automotive parts, have we got a deal for you!

Last year at SEMA, Jay Rogers, CEO of Local Motorsannounced a partnership with Siemens PLM that would make Solid Edge CAD software available through the Forge, Local Motors’ open source community of designers, engineers, fabricators, makers and automotive enthusiasts. This year, Local Motors is back with a free trial offer so you can experience the possibilities yourself.

I’ll be at the Local Motors booth (Search for 37045 in the SEMA Map )at this year’s SEMA Show, along with Solid Edge Wizard Barry Shillingford to show off Solid Edge Design1 and all the possibilities you can bring to life with this affordable, easy-to-use professional grade 3D CAD software.  If you have a cool automotive part, and idea for a part, a need to modify a common aftermarket part… stop by and let’s work together to see how Solid Edge Design1 software can help bring your ideas to life. Don’t have your own design-ready concept? That’s ok. Stop by to see some of the current Local Motors projects that members of the Forge have already built.

P.S.If you can’t make it to SEMA, follow me, @Burhop, on twitter as I’ll be posting pics of any cool cars I see 🙂
