Analyzing AP by IDC
This video is from a discussion Chris Holmes, vice president for IDC Manufacturing Insights in Asia/Pacific, had with my AP colleagues. Chris shares some of the areas of growth by country. His viewpoint is driven by recent survey results.
The survey indicated emerging economies like China & India would see “big adoption” of PLM to move them to more knowledge work. Particularly China being looked at the economy to lead the world out of recession.
Chris highlights a few vertical industries. He notes in automotive, design for manufacturability and assembly are key interest areas. He says smaller companies are focused on getting closer to their OEM clients with more innovative products. In high tech, he sees more interest in compliance management.
