Whats New in Xpedition VX.2.6 – Design Verification
In the previous What’s New in Xpedition VX.2.6 blog post I presented some of the new Layout functionality that is available in Xpedition VX.2.6. In this blog I’ll be presenting some of the key Design Verification highlights.
AVL for schematic analysis – Approved vendor list libraries can be easily created by importing a database or spreadsheet with mappings between internal part numbers and manufacturer part numbers. This simplifies selection of parts from Xpedition Valydate’s online database. Click image below to watch video
Model template for schematic analysis – New additions have been added to the model template, including transformer pin types, ranges on pin treatments, and a flag for intentional errors. These changes increase the range and accuracy of schematic analysis.. Click image below to watch video
Reusable profiles for schematic analysis – Analysis profiles can be saved, allowing a consistent set of preferences to be run across multiple projects. Click image below to watch video
Modeling PCB parasitics for analog / mixed-signal simulation – PCB parasitics can be a crucial factor in modern analog / mixed-signal designs, but their effects on circuit behavior are usually ignored during design simulations. This can result in designs that miss their performance targets or have to be manually tuned after manufacture. Integration between Xpedition AMS and HyperLynx Advanced 3D EM Solvers allows PCB parasitics to be accurately modeled and included in AMS simulations before PCB fabout, so that design adjustments can be made quickly and accurately, greatly increasing chances of first pass design success.
