Mentor Automotive’s DRS360 Autonomous Driving Platform Named “Most Innovative Product of 2017”
I am pleased to report that Embedded Computing Design magazine just named Mentor Automotive’s DRS360 Autonomous Driving Platform the “Most Innovative Product of 2017” in the Systems category.
While hardy surprising, it is indeed rewarding to see the continued enthusiasm and marketplace validation our DRS360 platform continues to generate — especially in light of the tremendous hype that autonomous driving technology has generated in recent years. In fact, a Comet Labs tally published by Wired in May identified 263 firms “racing toward autonomous cars”. So, it is extremely gratifying to see Mentor Automotive’s top-shelf engineering team recognized as standing head and shoulders above the competition.
A panel of judges from the Embedded Computing Design’s esteemed advisory board and editorial team selected Mentor’s DRS360 platform based on technology innovation, relative performance and potential market impact.
The DRS360 platform’s innovation stems from its unique approach to enabling Level 5 automated driving based on unfiltered, raw sensor data captured by advanced (yet elegantly simple) sensor modules and centrally fused in real time for deterministic performance, significant reductions in system cost and complexity, and access to all captured sensor data for the highest resolution model of the vehicle’s environment and driving conditions.
Please join me in congratulating Mentor Automotive for this latest milestone for the DRS360 platform!
