Highlights from AIAA SciTech 2025
It was great to meet so many of you at AIAA SciTech Forum held January 6–10, 2025, in Orlando, Florida. This year’s theme, “Energize the Future,” set the tone for a week filled with insightful discussions, technical presentations and hands-on demonstrations that showcased the latest in aerospace research and technology.
In line with this year’s theme, Siemens remains committed to supporting aerospace organizations in overcoming industry challenges with solutions that enhance collaboration, drive efficiency and enable smarter decision-making for sustained growth.
Takeaways from Siemens‘ AIAA SciTech booth
At our booth, visitors explored how Simcenter testing solutions accelerate test-based validation throughout the design cycle, reducing reliance on physical prototypes.
Simcenter testing solutions deliver superior measurement precision and data accuracy to provide high-quality insight for smarter decision-making. Based on embedded industry expertise and an application-oriented approach, Simcenter testing solutions provide more insight in less time. As part of the broader Simcenter portfolio, Simcenter testing tightly integrates with numerous simulation solutions, facilitating collaboration between departments and helping companies deliver innovation faster and with greater confidence.
Demonstrations included:
- Smart mechatronic systems testing: Capture all relevant physics and control parameters in one effort for efficient testing.
- Integrated testing and analysis: Combine data acquisition, instrumentation and analysis for fast, accurate performance evaluation.
- Remote connectivity and automation: Streamline processes and accelerate data collection to boost testing productivity.
- Precision and accuracy: Ensure superior measurement precision and data accuracy for smarter decision-making.
Technical papers with Siemens contributions presented
Three technical papers with Siemens contributions were presented at AIAA SciTech 2025 during the forum:
- “Fixed Grid RANS Results Using Simcenter STAR-CCM+ for the 5th AIAA High Lift Prediction Workshop” by Jeremy Hanke and Christopher C. Nelson
- “Integrated Structural Design and Analysis Applied to a Large Surveillance Drone” by Jens de Boer, Arianna Bosco, Elias Allegaert, Alban Carpentier, and Vasiliki Aspasious
- ”A Benchmark and Comparison of Airfoil Parameterization and Optimization Techniques” by Aaron H. Godfrey and Christopher C Nelson
Academic workforce development at AIAA SciTech 2025
During the forum, attendees had the chance to learn why Siemens is the world’s number one technology provider in the aerospace and defense industry, from small and medium business to large OEMs. We shared our partnerships with these companies and why they look to Siemens for technically qualified graduates by recruiting from the very best colleges and universities.
We also explored the possibilities and opportunities in all types of engineering, computer sciences, business development, program management, finance, sales and marketing to name a few.
Conversations about Siemens Xcelerator Academy introduced pathways such as:
- Siemens Genesis program upon graduation
- Hybrid Internships that work around your class schedules
- Certifications that move you to the front of the hiring line with A&D Companies
- On demand, online, courseware, and technical support as you progress
- Micro Credentials (live in June 2025)
- And so much more…
