Active Workspace – Making PLM Accessible for All

It seems that it was just yesterday when Active Workspace made its debut at PLM Connection 2013 in Dallas. Active Workspace has come a long way since the very first MVP version that we showed you over 2 years ago.



Today, Active Workspace 2.4, the best and most capable release of Active Workspace yet, is available for you at no cost!

Over the next few months, as our team is hard at work on Active Workspace 3.0, we will publish a series of blog posts to give you insights on what you can accomplish with Active Workspace.

Let’s start by taking a moment to review our vision for Active Workspace, the reason why we decided to embark on this Active Workspace journey in the first place.

Make PLM Accessible for All

Aligned with Teamcenter’s overall vision of “Simplifying PLM”, our vision for Active Workspace is to Make PLM accessible to all users throughout the product lifecycle. All users, regardless of their role, skill level, technical expertise or their knowledge of PLM and how the PLM system is structured.

We did not build Active Workspace to create a new thin client or to create a light consumer client only for managers and executives, we built Active Workspace to be the PLM client for everybody in your enterprise who participates in the product lifecycle, from CAD designers, marketing managers, shop floor workers, technical documentation team, ergonomics engineer, all the way to the CxO.

And we set a course to accomplish this vision with a client that provides a streamlined and intuitive PLM user experience that’s always available anytime, anywhere, on any modern computing device.
