Introducing Opcenter X Intosite

Manufacturers operate across dispersed sites with information spread over many systems. Opcenter™ X Intosite™ brings these worlds together in one, browser-based experience: a cloud-delivered digital twin of your facilities that unifies factory visuals with the authoritative data behind them — so teams can navigate, access and collaborate in context.

What is Opcenter X Intosite?

Opcenter™ X Intosite is a cloud-based web application that provides an immersive representation of production facilities in their geographical context with the ability to navigate intuitively through the facility. It unifies factory visuals with authoritative enterprise data in a single, contextual view. Users explore facilities through map-like navigation across 2D layouts, interactive 3D models and 360° panoramas, then open exactly the information they need via visual placemarks anchored to assets and locations. Delivered as SaaS and accessed securely through a browser. Built-in connectors to Teamcenter®, Siemens analytic tools and Mendix™, together with open REST APIs, bring PLM, IoT, MES and ERP data into the same experience. Information layers and role-based views keep teams focused; status placemarks and live events provide at-a-glance readiness. Reality-capture integration with in-scene measurements supports layout reviews, production ramp-up and maintainability checks. Location-tied discussions and virtual reviews accelerate collaboration and knowledge sharing across plants.

Why it matters

Centralized, cloud-delivered access. Instead of hunting through multiple systems, users open one cloud-hosted entry point that combines factory visualizations with real operational information — available to teams regardless of location.

Context that shortens the path from question to answer. Information is accessed by location. Users move from a world map to a site, line or station and click visual tags to reach the exact record in its originating system, reducing the chance of retrieving the wrong item and enabling faster, more confident decisions. No data is duplicated; Opcenter X Intosite points to the authoritative source.

Knowledge sharing and collaboration. Built-in discussion tools make it easy to publish and consume company know-how, involve dispersed experts and align stakeholders through virtual tours and reviews.

Better planning, lower cost. Placing information in its geographical and 3D setting supports virtual planning and early issue detection, helping teams align before rollout and speed multi-site deployments.

What you can do: From insights to impact

Global, multi-site manufacturing is complex. Intosite turns PLM and related manufacturing information into a “last-mile” experience by anchoring it to place — delivered as one user workflow consisting of four steps: Navigate, Investigate, Integrate and Collaborate.

Navigate

Start from a world map and move to the relevant site, line, station or machine; open exactly what you need by selecting a visual tag at that location. Because access is location-based, information becomes naturally discoverable, the risk of retrieving the wrong item drops and the status of the plant becomes clearer.

Investigate

Drill into details from engineering and factory systems depending on your role. Visual overlays on assets indicate content type; a click opens the corresponding record in the authoritative source. Tags serve as entry points tied to specific places and can be organized into customizable information layers, with role-based permissions keeping each user’s view focused.

Integrate

Use out-of-the-box connectors to Teamcenter, the Mendix platform and Siemens analytic tools inside a single solution. Deep links give direct access to managed data and manufacturing applications; and open the corresponding placemark in the original system in the right context. Events can map to status placemarks for quick awareness. Open REST APIs support ERP/PLM/MES/IoT integrations.

Collaborate

Meet “at” the same factory location virtually through a browser (zero install). Teams review the same assets and data, anchor discussions to specific tags, and share best practices — extending cooperation across functions and sites through virtual tours and in-context forums.

Typical applications

  • Close the loop between central engineering and plants. Publish work instructions, ergonomics directives, and training materials as visual tags at the relevant stations; factory teams provide feedback in context.
  • Plan and review in context. Multidisciplinary teams conduct station-by-station reviews using prepared information and simple readiness indicators, improving deployment outcomes.
  • Standardize local best practices. Share improvements — documents, photos, short clips — so sites learn from one another and rollouts benefit from lead-factory experience.
  • Bring metrics to managers. Navigate visually to retrieve reports and analytics, enabling intuitive data reviews across smart, sensor-rich factories.

A practical path to digitalization

Opcenter X Intosite supports step-by-step progress it visualizes the factory, links it to engineering and operational data and leverages connectivity so users can access what they need, when and where they need it — each step delivering tangible value on its own.

Opcenter X Intosite simplifies access, streamlines collaboration, and helps teams make decisions with confidence — by bringing everyone to the same “virtual place” and connecting them to the right information in context.
