These enhancements enable manufacturers to establish a more connected, flexible, and user-friendly workflow while maintaining licensing simplicity.
Expanded Nonconformance (NC) Management
Available across all Opcenter products, the expanded functionality introduces a fourth object type: Nonconformance. This object can now be created directly in Tc Quality from Opcenter, joining Problem Report, Issue Report, and Quality Issue to form a fully integrated, bidirectional quality workflow that spans the shop floor (Opcenter) and enterprise quality management (Teamcenter Quality).
Quality events that once demanded manual handoffs, duplicate data entry, or fragmented tracking now flow seamlessly between systems. Shop floor operators and quality engineers work within their native environments while maintaining a single, synchronized NC record, accelerating containment, enhancing traceability, and enabling faster root cause resolution.
How It Works
The NC workflow is structured around clear, role-based responsibilities. On the shop floor, operators initiate a nonconformance through the E-Procedure form in Opcenter, assign failure modes and containers, and after submission, the system automatically creates a corresponding NC in Tc Quality with one containment action per Opcenter container.
Quality engineers may assign dispositions per container through containment actions, resolve the NC (with or without engaging a formal problem-solving process), and close it across both systems simultaneously. Ownership transfer is fully configurable enabling either system to assume control or operate independently without blocking the other.
