The NX Design Classic

By William Chanatry

The first annual NX Design Classic was held in Cincinnati, OH last week. This was an event hosted by our partners at PROLIM

(view in My Videos)

The event gathered just around 70 NX users who were interested in the latest release, and learning more about how they can better their CAD workflows. Hot topics of interest were covered, such as the NX Continuous Release methodology, the new Adaptive UI functionality , and some of the new enhancements into the latest release. Animation designer, an improved assembly loading speed, and a new technical data package were all demonstrated to the excited crowd who expressed excitement with the new functionality.

After the presentations from Siemens and Prolim, the guests were able to enjoy a lunch while trying out the new NX Virtual Reality design review. Those users who tried the setup were impressed by the singular button click into the virtual environment. Guests were able to immerse themselves inside a jet engine where they were able to interact with the model. Guests mentioned how they wanted to try out their own models in the virual reality environment so they may interact and review their own datasets.

Following lunch, PROLIM had raffled off NX gear that guests could take home with them. Post lunch activities involved engagement with event guests and many rounds of top golf. Needless to say guests of the event enjoyed themselves.
