Why Mark Burhop Became an Engineer

By Dora Smith

For those of you who only know Mark Burhop by his avatar (above), below is a rare exclusive video so you can see what he really looks and sounds like.

Why did he become an engineer? Because he was not good at languages ;-). In this video interview, Mark Burhop shares how he got into engineering and his career path from software developer to product manager to app ecosystem builder.

Mark recommends students find what makes them happy.

“Don’t chase the money. Chase the things that you want to do that make you happy. So for me, I love engineering. I love cars. I love taking things apart. I love mathematics.”

A mantra for so many engineers. If you want to learn more about Mark’s current job, check out The Solid Edge Ecosystem Comes to Life blog post. You can get to know Mark on nearly every social media platform. Here are links to just a few: Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+.

That’s Mark’s story – what’s yours?
