PLM Connection: Teamcenter
It is now almost 6:45 PM. Time to get ready for the reception. I sat through almost four hours of Teamcenter presentations. We heard from Steve Bashada on Teamcenter strategy, we saw Dave Mitchell & Keith Walk Teamcenter 8.1 show & tell, heard about Teamcenter Requirements Management, and Teamcenter Portfolio, Program & Project Management. I feel excited as to where Teamcenter is and where it is going.
We saw new capabilities in Teamcenter Visualization, light JT which will allow easier and faster communication and collaboration with suppliers. We saw the power and compelling productivity from the Teamcenter integration with Microsoft Office. We heard about Requirements management integrated with Schedule managemement, and Program and Project Management integrated with Portfolio Management, engineering change management and all the down stream PLM processes. The list is long and interesting, but I don’t want to bore you with all details from us.
The key take away message is about Teamcenter unified PLM and the benefits it can bring to our customers. We need to educate our customers and help our customer bring the benefits to their executives and cross functional team. We need to migrate the customers from PDM to PLM.
More to come from some conversations with customers and partners tomorrow.
