A Veritable Buffet

By Tim Egloff

I do miss the days I spent on the factory floor: un-godly hours, vending-machine cuisine, stubborn code and uncooperative machinery.  Now that I’ve spent several years behind a desk, I’m always glad when I get a chance to get out and see the latest in manufacturing technology.

If you’re anywhere near the Midwest, you might want to plan on attending this year’s Design and Manufacturing Midwest show (September 20-22 at McCormick Place, Chicago, IL.), actually a combination of shows which includes the Quality Expo which I used to go to regularly back when it was on its own.  Now I’m going as an interested party/exhibitor.  (Look for a blog/video/tweet [follow @timegloff/#tecnomatix] or two from the show).

Beyond the vendor booths (featuring Tecnomatix in booth #1913), I’m especially looking forward to the Innovation Briefs Theater – located in the in the resources hall; it looks to be a great venue to discover some of the latest advances in lean, inventory management, forming and certainly quality software and hardware.  In fact, one of our own quality management subject matter experts will be speaking on day one.  You don’t want to miss it!

So if you enjoy a good technology buffet like I do, join us by registering online now and use Promo Code: XG. We’ll waive the processing fees because, while I’m sure there will be vending-machine food at the event, you could use the extra cash to enjoy the Chicago cuisine.
