Bob Parker of IDC on Investments in a Recovering Economy

Audience @ Siemens PLM Software 2011 Innovation Leadership Summit3

Bob Parker, group vice president for research at IDC Manufacturing Insights, attended our Innovation Leadership Summit last week. He shares in the video summary below some of the insights he took away from the event.Bob notes the consistent themes from the Siemens PLM customer presentations last week include capitalizing on complexity and integrating engineering into a complete product vision.

Bob sees manufacturers making cautious investments in the recovering economy: “We have recovery but it is still a bit fragile. Complexity as a reality of doing business … contributes to the fragility for driving investment. The investment shift is to things that can drive productivity to the process for faster decision making through a global platform for collaboration… PLM meets all of those requirements.”
